Help raise $74,000 for Friends of WPC Nepal's 10th Annual Hope for Freedom Gala! Money will fund the WPC safe home for 27 children and all anti-trafficking programs in Nepal for 2021. Besides providing housing, schooling and care for 27 children in the safe home, Friends of WPC Nepal provides the following programs aimed to prevent trafficking and empower women and children:
- 6-month vocational training for 20 - 25 women to start a new career as a seamstress or tailor.
- Education scholarships for 58 women and children in the community near the safe home
- Trafficking awareness programs in villages most susceptible to trafficking. Schools and community leaders learn to recognize and report trafficking attempts
- Safe migration counseling to ensure men and women know their rights as workers and learn to recognize and avoid illegitimate job offers abroad
If $74,000 is met, it will also help fund the completion of a second home dedicated to women 18+ who are attending college or the vocational training program.
